Get Stronger, Live Longer with these Two Essential Nutrients!

While there are hundreds of physiological variables you could investigate and thousands of supplements you could take, measuring and optimizing your vitamin D and Omega 3 levels will dramatically improve both the quality and the quantity (length) of your life.

What’s the catch? You can’t randomly take any fish oil or vitamin D3 supplement.  You need to take a simple, yet scientific, approach to the process in order to insure your restorative success.

Optimal levels of vitamin D can extend your life!

The benefits of vitamin D are numerous; it strengthens your immunity, boosts your metabolism, elevates your mood, increases your physical performance, and decreases your recovery time.  But did you know that vitamin D can also slow down the aging process by extending the length of your white blood cell telomeres?  Telomeres are the biological stop watch that determine how long your cells (and you) will live—and how healthy you will be.   You can learn more about telomeres by exploring the following links: herehere and here. ...

What’s the deal with fish oil?

While there are a number of sources of Omega 3 fats such as nuts and seeds (which are only 10% utilized by the body) and Krill (which doesn’t contain enough Omega 3 fatty acids), fish oil is—by far—the the richest source of easily-absorbable Omega 3 fats.

Let’s look at some of the benefits of an optimal Omega 3 level:

  • It will reduce inflammation
  • It will prevent age-related, cognitive disease
  • It results in lower triglyceride levels—and lower blood pressure
  • It will slow the process of age-related, macular degeneration
  • It will keep the blood vessels strong and flexible
  • It can improve or eliminate depression
  • It can decrease the joint stiffness associated with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis

And there’s more!

Recent studies have shown that Omega 3 fats from fish oil lessen the symptoms of diabetes and can reduce Alzheimer's plaques before they become pathological.  Believe it or not, fish oil has even been shown to improve the academic test scores of college students.

As is the case with vitamin D, an optimal Omega 3 level is a critical factor influencing the length of your telomeres.

According to these two, recent studies, “People with high levels of Omega 3's from fish oil in the blood appear to have a slowing of the biological aging process over five years as measured by the change in telomere length and show the slowest decrease in telomere length.”

If all the health and performance benefits weren’t already enough, the desire to live a longer, healthier life should motivate you to take your Omega 3’s each and every day!

How can you be sure you’re getting enough?

Your supplement regimen MUST include a high-quality fish oil that been clinically-proven effective.  The bottom line is that most people (especially vegans and those following the SAD or standard American diet) are abysmally-low the healthful Omega 3’s and dangerously-high in the harmful Omega 6 fats that come from vegetable oils—soy, corn, canola, peanut and safflower.

The tell-tale signs of an Omega 3 deficiency include chronic low energy, accelerated aging, wrinkles, joint aches and pains, forgetfulness and internal inflammation.  In addition to rapid aging, a high Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio has also been linked to a 10-fold increase in heart disease and much higher rates of autoimmune disease, stroke, cancer and Alzheimer’s.

Can you do it by changing your diet?

While many people change their diet by eating more fish (along with nuts, hemp, chia and flax seeds), clinical research shows that an optimal Omega 3 level cannot be achieved with dietary interventions alone.  Eskimos aside, it’s just not possible to eat enough fish and sea food to correct an Omega 6/Omega 3 imbalance.

Aim for an Omega 3 Index of 15%

When you look at populations that have very virtual no heart disease, stroke, arthritis, Alzheimer’s or depression,  their average Omega 3 index hovers around 15%.  Achieving this goal typically requires a supplemental dose of at least 2500 mg of a highly absorbed EPA/DHA combination each day.  But you can’t count on any old fish oil!  While there are a number effective, toxin- free fish oil products on the market, most are ineffective and potentially harmful because they have been processed with harmful hexanes.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Take one tablespoon of Just Peachy (1 bottle per month) and two capsules of Pharmax Finest Fish Oil (1/2 bottle per month) daily.

2.  Eliminate your use of vegetable oils such as corn, canola, safflower and soy

3.  Switch to eating grass-fed meats, pastured eggs and some cold water fish—like wild salmon. Will it cost a little bit more?  Yes.  But the length and quality of your life are worth it!

Remember to assess your Omega 3 levels.

Once you’ve adjusted your diet and taken supplements for 6 months, it will be time for your test!  Did you achieve your 15% Omega 3 Index goal?  Is your Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio now less than 3:1?  There’s only one way to find out—check your levels.  It’s a simple process that can be completed at home with a painless, finger stick assessment.
